Yardsale · a few photos, one click, and it's for sale everywhere
I regularly resell second-hand items, and the most tedious part is not the selling: it is everything before it. Finding out what the item is worth, writing the listing, rewriting it for Vinted, LeBonCoin, Au Vide Grenier and Gens de Confiance, then taking everything down once it's gone.
So I am building Yardsale. The idea:
- I drop in the photos of the item.
- The AI identifies it, looks for comparable sales and writes the texts.
- The price comes from a fixed formula, not from the AI: it never sets a price.
- I review, I approve, and the tool publishes on each platform, one listing at a time, at a calm pace, within the hours I chose.
- When the item is sold, the other listings are taken down.
The choice I stand by: everything runs on your computer, with your own AI and your own accounts. No Yardsale account, no server in the middle.
Where it stands: in development. The whole chain of the first version is built and tested with a simulated AI; publishing for real is the next test. The code will be public, under the same licence as Maily, and a hosted version will come later.
I will post the progress here, and the release when it is ready.
